Sustainapalooza

In place of the annual Symposium on Sustainability event, Sustainapalooza - an event focused on celebration, recognition, and reflection related to the many accomplishments that have taken place since President Geoffroy began the Live Green! initiative in 2008, served as the collective campus sustainability event for 2012.

Sustainapalooza took place Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4-6pm in the Memorial Union Great Hall.

2012 kicked off the fifth year of the Live Green! initiative and an appreciation of all of the support and vision given by President Geoffroy related to sustainability, living green, and a working toward a sustainable future. As we welcomed Dr. Steven Leath to Iowa State University as our 15th President, Sustainapalooza provided the platform for our collective campus team of students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the journey we have made so far and look forward to the journey still in progress.

This year's event was spearheaded and driven by the vision, creativity, and enthusiasm of Chandra Peterson and Matt Santee (Co-Presidents), as well as all the members of the student organization, The Green Umbrella. Event sponsorship was provided by the Council on Sustainabilty, Live Green!, and The Green Umbrella.
