The insurance industry faces a rapidly evolving landscape marked by climate change, rising natural disasters, cybersecurity threats, financial instability, and shifting customer expectations. This lecture will examine how the industry can strategically adapt and innovate to meet these challenges.
Scott Jean is president and CEO at EMC Insurance Companies. Mr. Jean began his career with EMC as an intern and enjoyed working in various areas including as actuary, vice president and chief actuary, and executive vice president of finance and strategy. Mr. Jean earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1993—and remains a proud Cyclone! He is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Mr. Jean was awarded the Department of Mathematics Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023.
